WELCOME!

Outdoor Masses starting this Ascension Thursday, May 21st

Dear Parishioners,

After more than two months of quarantine with our public Masses suspended, we are taking the first steps into gradually resuming our religious celebrations. For the next few weeks we will celebrate Mass outside in the back parking lot with the distribution of Holy Communion. If some people don’t feel comfortable receiving the Eucharist because of the corona virus, we want to assure everyone that we try to distribute Holy Communion in the safest way possible. The safety of both the faithful and the clergy is our first priority. The minister will always sanitize his hands, wear a face mask during Communion, and in case he touches the hand of the faithful he will immediately sanitize his fingers in a bowl of sanitizer available next to him. When giving out Communion on the tongue, he will sanitize his fingers each time.

St. Margaret Mary will celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord this coming Thursday, May 21st in the back parking lot for registered parishioners only, who will remain in their cars except to receive Communion. There will be 2 Masses that day - 12 Noon and 5:30 PM. Weekend Masses will resume in the same fashion with 4 PM on Saturdays and 9 and 11 AM on Sundays. The online Masses will continue to be streamed on Facebook and the parish website. Accommodations for handicapped will be provided and masks are required when walking outside your car or when you have the car windows open. If you don’t have a mask the parish will provide one. If you are sick or have any symptoms please stay home. Please be aware that restrooms are not available. You will need a FM radio in your car to be able to listen to the Mass. The FM channel will be 101.5. Also notice that according to the state rules, you are not allowed to keep the car engine running more than three minutes while parked.

Please call the office at 203-924-4929 Mon - Fri only 9AM-2 PM to sign up. Due to the limited number of spaces, registration will be required. Also, those who register for the Masses must accept the following disclaimer notice.

ST. MARGARET MARY
NOTICE REGARDING ATTENDANCE AT MASSES

Saint Margaret Mary in Shelton is pleased to be able to offer public worship again.  The parish is taking precautions per the CDC and Governor Lamont’s recommendations regarding public gatherings, as well as our own precautions we feel are prudent under the circumstances. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to mass, but please understand there are risks involved in attending a public worship in a pandemic despite all of the precautions taken by the parish and the diocese.

We ask your cooperation with all of the directives that have been put in place for your safety and the safety of our clergy and your fellow worshipers.

Let us continue to pray to Our Lord to guide us and protect us that one day we would be able to come and worship together as one family of faith.

May God bless you and keep you safe!

Father Ciprian Bejan, Pastor

We, the Catholic faithful of Fairfield County, stand together with Christ at this transformational moment in our history, when we are called upon to invest in the true treasure of the Church - the people who form the Body of Christ - in order to lead them, young and old, rich and poor, forward in faith to ensure a strong, vibrant Church for our children and their children.

"Those who have preceded us have left us with the gift of a vibrant Church.
The obligation is ours to maintain and enhance this inheritance..."
...Most Rev. Frank Caggiano, Bishop of Bridgeport
